Lyra (Greece)

Lyra - Electric train sets Lyra,

Lyra

Lyra was a Greek company that made traditional games and toys itself. in the 1970s, Lyra turned to the distribution of toys from other toy manufacturers. So Lyra is well known to collectors for producing and distributed Playmobil toys under Geaobra licence for the Greek market and for some Arab countries between 1977 and 1985.
During the 1970s, it was the Greek importer of Solido (French specialist of miniature cars). The models are technically identical, only the boxes are original with the Lyra-Solido markings. There are also Heller plastic models with the Lyra-Heller markings. As Jouef is part of the Le Jouet Français group which includes the Solido and Heller companies, it's not a surprise to find some Jouef electric train sets Jouef distributed by Lyra.
