About theRTL TGV
Tuesday June 16th, 1981, it was the first TGV journey between Paris-Gare de Lyon and Montchanin, with passengers and without any journalists or technicians.It was the TGV trainset n°24 which was used for this journey. One trailer had the seats removed in order to leave place for a mini-studio with mixing table, sunlights, drums and one piano. Departure at 11h18 Gare de Lyon, enter in the fast track at de St-Florentin at 12h35 to reach the speed of 260 km/h, and then arrival at Le Creusot-Montceau les Mines-Montchanin station at 13h20. The radio progamme La Grande Parade de RTL was broadcast in real time from the TGV between 11h00 and 13h30.
