Mr Georges Huard

Mr Georges Huard signed in 1931 a commercial agent contract in order to sell some wood made articles manufactured around the city of Champagnole, with which becames the future compagny named JeuJura. Mr Georges Huard was a Parisian but as he acted as commercial agent at this time, he got a real knowwledge of the toy market and how to make bplantss in Jura area when he set up the Le Jouet Français in 1944. The first railcar is launched before 1949: it was the transsaharian railcar Algiers-Tombouctou in OO scale and made in tinplate. At the same time, Jouef sold some plastic household articles. There was also production of some penny toys (small cars, tractors), and tinplate boats.
In 1958, the commercial agreement between Mr Georges Huard and Jeujura hold by Mr Bernard Liegeon, was broken.
Mr Georges Huard gave up Jouef in 1972, during the golden age of railway scale models.
